Beginner Earth Observation Analysis series in Lund

Education and EO training for beginners

(Highly recommended for those interested in the Challenge Collab/Hackathon)

This lecture series is designed for those new to Earth Observation (EO), Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and basic spatial analysis. It will be facilitated by:

  • Ola Hall: His research focuses on using satellite data and machine learning to estimate socioeconomic development indicators, such as poverty and economic growth. Olas profile.
  • Lina Eklund: Her work frequently utilises Earth Observation to study the environmental dimensions of armed conflict, migration, and climate change, particularly in the Middle East. Linas profile.
  • Stefanos Georganos: A researcher with expertise in geomatics and Earth Observation, focusing on urban inequalities, informal settlements, and building damage assessment. His work often integrates deep learning and high-resolution satellite imagery to support sustainable development goals. Stefanos profile
